Interior Desgn Consultation Terms & Conditions

These are the Terms & Conditions by which Minnie Claridge, trading as The Interior Design Nook (“the Designer”, “I”, or “my”) provides interior design Consultation services to you (“the Client”, “you” or “your”). 

By making payment for the interior design Consultation, the Client hereby engages the Designer, and the Designer hereby accepts such engagement to provide interior design advice subject to and in accordance with these Terms & Conditions. 

 

1. Scope of Work 

The interior design Consultation is to be delivered virtually or in person, whereby all design advice will be given during the 90-minute Consultation, which will be followed up in writing via email. Preparatory information may be requested by the Designer in advance. 

A quote for further design services and procurement can be provided after the Consultation if required. The scope of further design work, cost and timeframe will be agreed in writing in a formal Contract for Interior Design Services. 

 

2. Pricing and Payment Terms 

Payment is due by the date stated on your invoice to secure your booking. Late payment may result in rescheduling your Consultation. 

 

3. Site visits 

Site visits are available within 15 miles of HR2 0RY for stand-alone Consultations. Outside of this zone, meetings will be virtual via video call. 

 

4. Design Advice 

Any design advice given by the Designer is for conceptual purposes and is not verified for compliance with Building Regulations 2010 and the Building Safety Act 2022. Structural requirements, fire safety and any other safety and compliance considerations do not fall within the scope of the 90-minute Consultation and should be addressed by a qualified person. 

 

5. Product recommendations 

Any products recommended by the Designer should be verified for suitability by The Client, including (but not limited to) compliance with The Furniture and Furnishings (Fire Safety) Regulations 1988. Any other safety and compliance considerations do not fall within the scope of the 90-minute Consultation. 

The Client is responsible for measuring and calculating quantities of any products recommended by the Designer, including recommended surplus for products such as (but not limited to) tiles, flooring and wallpaper. The Designer is not liable for any delays or additional costs incurred due to incorrect measurements or quantities ordered. 

 

6. Communication 

Communication is generally via email and video call. Please contact me if you require another option for Accessibility. 

 

7. Cancellation and Amendment 

If you wish to cancel or amend your Consultation appointment, you must do so, in writing, no less than 7 days prior to the date of your Consultation. Cancellation or amendment after this date will incur a fee of 50% the booking cost. 

The Designer reserves the right to cancel or amend this appointment if unforeseen circumstances prevent the Designer from completing the work set out in Paragraph 1. 

In the event of cancellation and if payment has already been made, a full refund will be given within 14 days. 

 

8. Law and Jurisdiction 

These terms and conditions shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute, controversy, proceedings or claim between the Parties relating to these terms and conditions shall fall within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
